A profile of the Catholic Bishop of Middlesbrough, the Right Reverend Terence Drainey.
The Right Reverend Terence Drainey is the Bishop of Middlesbrough. Born in Manchester in 1949, Bishop Drainey was ordained to the priesthood in 1975.
He was ordained bishop in St Mary’s Cathedral, Middlesbrough on 25 January 2008.
Bishop Drainey was appointed President of St Cuthbert’s College Ushaw in June 2003 and in 2006 was made a papal chaplain by Pope Benedict XVI.
He is Chairman of the National Office for Vocation and is a member of the Bishops’ Conference Department of Education and Formation.
