Bishop Declan Lang has made a statement on violence in Syria.
“Over the past sixteen months, the people of Syria – whether in Aleppo or in many other parts of this historical country – are suffering from the awful violence that is being inflicted upon them on a daily basis.
“My thoughts are with each and every one of them as they struggle with great courage and fortitude for their dignity and basic freedoms. I pray today that they will succeed in building up a society of equal citizens in which all Syrians of all backgrounds will enjoy a future marked with reconciliation and plurality and where they will rid themselves from all forms of sectarianism.”
