A profile of the Catholic Bishop Emeritus of Lancaster, the Right Reverend Michael Campbell OSA.
The Right Reverend Michael Campbell OSA is the Bishop Emeritus of Lancaster. Born in Larne, Northern Ireland in 1941, Bishop Campbell was ordained to the priesthood on 16 September 1971.
He was ordained bishop in St Peter’s Cathedral, Lancaster on 31 March 2008. It was an historic event as Bishop Campbell was the first Augustinian Friar to be ordained in England since the reformation of the 16th century.
Bishop Campbell is a member of the Bishops’ Conference Department of Life and Worship.
