Cardinal Vincent Nichols has given a wide-ranging reflection to the priests of the Archdiocese of Birmingham.
He spoke to his brother priests at a Day Conference for Birmingham’s Catholic priests at the city’s Edgbaston Stadium.
In his reflection, the Cardinal affirmed the role of priest and examined how our history can inform our present.
Taking a steer from Judith Champ’s book ‘The Secular Priesthood in England and Wales: History, Mission and Identity’, Cardinal Nichols took three key questions to frame his reflection:
How the individual priest lives his life
How he relates to his brother priests and bishops
How he leads the community placed in his care
