Cardinal Vincent Nichols spoke to us just a few moments ago to give us an update from the Family Synod in Rome.
Having just completed the morning session, the Cardinal gave us a few minutes of his break, over the phone, to look back on a busy first week.
He talks about the small group discussions and the progress made – including the broad agreement that the Synod’s opening documents were too negative in terms of an appreciation of family situations as well as being too focused on Europe.
As Cardinal Nichols looks ahead to the second week, he talks about the language of the Church and, in an optimistic conclusion, said the pathway forward for the Synod is becoming clearer.
