The Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales met for its plenary session at Hinsley Hall in Leeds between 23-26 April 2012. The Bishops’ Conference is made up of Diocesan, Auxiliary and Emeritus Bishops of England and Wales; the Ordinary of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham; the Apostolic Exarch for the Ukrainians and the Catholic Bishop of the Forces.
“The Bishops’ Conference asks the President to convey the following message to the Holy Father:
‘Your Holiness, At our meeting on 23rd April 2012, the Solemnity of St George, we the members of the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales wish to convey to you our warmest congratulations on the recent occasions of your 85th Birthday and the 7th Anniversary of your Election as Supreme Pontiff. We assure you of our love and we pray that Almighty God will grant you unfailing strength in the exercise of your ministry as Successor of St Peter.’”
“The Bishops’ Conference endorses the National Vocations Framework prepared by the National Office for Vocations and is resolved at diocesan level to encourage their diocesan agencies and deaneries to work towards the objectives identified in the Framework”
“The Bishops’ Conference endorses the Revised Documentation for the Selection of Permanent Deacons as the national standard for best practice.”
