The Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain, Archbishop Antonio Mennini, addressed the Bishops of England and Wales at their plenary meeting in Leeds this week.
In his address, 23 April, he asked for the Bishops’ continuous generous support of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham: “Do please continue to be generous in your support of their endeavours”.
He drew attention to the National Vocations Framework and the promotion of vocations to the priesthood and religious life. He also called for continued dialogue in the public square and spoke of the importance of joining together with people of other faiths to highlight the importance of marriage.
Finally, he expressed his admiration of the Queen in this her Diamond Jubilee year. He sent his congratulations to Her Majesty and spoke of how she clearly manifests the Christian faith which inspires her.
