It’s week two of our seasonal ‘Advent Art’ podcasts. The series tells the Advent story using four paintings from the National Gallery’s world-famous collection.
Each Sunday in Advent we join two culturally immersed priests who offer a thought-provoking insight into the works.
Father Christopher Whitehead, the Clifton Diocese’s Director of Adult Education is joined in conversation by Dr James Hanvey SJ, Director of the Heythrop Institute for Religion, Ethics and Public Life and an expert in art and culture.
For the Second Sunday of Advent, Fathers Whitehead and Hanvey are looking at a painting crafted around 1515 from the Workshop of the Master, ‘The Visitation of the Virgin to Saint Elizabeth’.
