The Rt Rev Peter Brignall

The Rt Rev Peter M. Brignall is Bishop of Wrexham. Born in Whetstone, London in July 1953, Mgr Brignall was ordained to the priesthood on 18 February 1978.

In October 1998, he was elected to the Council of the College of Health Care Chaplains (CHCC) and spent several years serving as chaplain to Bangor and Wrexham's NHS hospitals. April 1999 saw his appointment as Bishop’s Advisor on Health Care Chaplaincy.

In 2010, he was appointed the Liturgy Committee of the Bishops’ Conference Department for Christian Life and Worship and made an Honorary Prelate with the title Monsignor.

Pope Benedict XVI announced Mgr Brignall as the third Bishop of Wrexham on 27 June 2012 and he was installed at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Sorrows, Wrexham on 12 September 2012.
