Main purposes of the job:

  • To secure unrestricted and restricted income from trusts, foundations, corporate foundations and other grant-giving organisations.
  • To manage legacy administration and implement and evolve the successful legacy fundraising strategy.

Core Responsibilities:


  • Continually develop the prospect pipeline, identifying new trusts and other grant-giving prospects that may fund the charity’s current and future work.
  • Write and submit high quality applications to potential funders within set deadlines.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the on-going relationships with funders and grant makers for current projects of work ensuring all reporting requirements are met on time.
  • Submit relevant monitoring and evaluation reports required by funders, ensuring high standards are consistently met.
  • Prepare budgets to support fundraising applications.


  • Implement the successful legacy fundraising strategy in conjunction with the Head of Major Gifts.
  • Deliver outstanding supporter journeys for legacy prospects and pledgers and in memoriam donors.
  • Develop the legacy income and in memoriam stream including the creation of processes, messaging and communications.
  • Implement legacy campaigns and legacy marketing in conjunction other colleagues.
  • Represent the charity in the Your Catholic Legacy consortium.
  • Manage all aspects of legacy administration and maintain database and records of legacy pledgers and legacies received.

The job also includes support to the Head of Major Gifts in all aspects of their work.
