An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, part time, Committee Secretary and Administrator to support the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales (CBCEW) within the secretariat. This is an important role which will support a range of the Bishops’ committees and will require an understanding of the Catholic Church.

The role will also be Secretary and administrator to National Catholic Safeguarding Committee (NCSC) and Survivor Advisory Panel (SAP)

Working in the office of the Catholic Bishops Conference, 39 Eccleston Square, London SW1V 1BX, a short walk from Victoria Station in Central London, the successful candidate will join a committed professional team.

Key Accountabilities will include

  • Coordinating and arranging committee meetings and attending to record, transcribe, agree and circulate minutes with relevant Chair’s;
  • Monitoring action points from meetings and keep meeting Chair’s appraised of progress and/or challenges;
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive contact lists for relevant groups to ensure that they remain accurate and up to date;
  • Meeting administration, including meeting room bookings, refreshment ordering and layout;
  • Monitor the NCSC website mailbox and responding in consultation with NCSC Chair
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide effective administrative support in support of CBCEW activity;
  • Undertaking reception duties as required to provide flexible cover;
  • Administration of events, including venue booking and administration, delegate bookings, preparation and distribution of delegate packs and attendance;
